Sunny's Page
(cat patterns and cat information)
|
Hi there! I'm Sunny, the little
kitten who was named Sundrop because I sort of looked like the rainbow
kitten in Sandy's business logo. I'm almost 5 years old now so I'm
not really a kitten anymore, but I'm still very small and look like a kitten
compared to my adopted brothers and sisters who are all bigger than me.
I wonder if being named after a cartoon-like kitten somehow stunted
my growth? Whatever the reason, it's okay because I get a lot of
extra attention from Sandy's friends because I'm so small.

Cat-appealing Pattern
How about making some
catnip birds instead of mice for your feline friends? Use Sandy's
Fun with Finches pattern to make ornaments, but leave off the hangers
and stuff the finches with catnip!
Pack contains patterns in two sizes for each design shown:
large size is about 6", small size is about 4".

Sandy gives
me extra attention, too. She designed a line of Christmas applique blocks
featuring me! Some of my siblings get into the act, too, but I'm the
star! Two of the blocks are shown below.

Using Sunny the Kitten in a Sampler
The
simple applique pattern of me can be used as a sub-unit in many
traditional pieced blocks. Here are a few examples:
I think cats are the best critters,
of course, but the other Sundrop Critters can be used in the same manner.
So the next time you feel like doing a sampler project,
consider adding a Critter to each block.

This
modified Bear's Paw block (Sandy calls it Kitty Claws) is a great
way to use any of the critters that have paws or claws! The
traditional Bear's Paw block also looks terrific.
|
The King's
Crown block is also great for framing your favorite appliqued
critter blocks.
