Scruffy's Page
Scruffy has been begging for his fair share of attention for himself
and other canine creatures, so he now has his own page for the dogs.
|
Sunny's Page
This is where all the cats hang out and try to teach the world
about quilting and everything else under the sun. They tend to
argue a lot about the "right" way to do things, so please forgive me if
pages don't get uploaded in a timely manner.

Here's a block I put together using the Baby Sunbonnet Sue Hide and Seek
block that was featured in 2003. It's larger than my scanner,
so it looks like the edges got chopped off.
To make this block, I cut an 8-inch square block of pink fabric,
folded it in half and cut out a heart - just like cutting paper hearts
in grade school. I placed this on a 9.5-inch square of white fabric
and stitched 1/4 inch inside the heart, leaving the edges raw so they
will fray after washing. I then appliquéd Baby Sue on top using
fusible web and a zigzag stitch. This scan shows the block before
being washed (I haven't done the laundry yet -- too busy). Baby Sue's
"dirty" diaper was cut from cloud fabric, the hat ribbon and sleeve were
cut from my hand-painted wrinkle print fabrics.
The pattern for Baby Sue is now available
for purchase in the
Applique section of the Pattern Catalog.
The block above was made by Kathy DeMarco, one of the Sundrop
Designs testers. She folded a 12" square of blue fabric in half,
then cut out the heart designs to make a frame to go around a 6" Baby
Sue.
