These pieced blocks were designed specifically for framing a special fabric, whether it's a fussy-cut square of an "I-can't-bear-to-cut-it" print or a photo transfer of a new grandbaby or great-granny's hand-embroidered hanky.  I originally began designing these for my own use for my hand-painted fabrics because I was getting tired of using the same traditional blocks (like Churn Dash and Hole in the Barn Door) all the time.  So, if you're like me and want to try something new, check these out.  

Most patterns are for 12" finished size blocks, so you can mix and match them to your heart's content.  Alternative instructions for paper piecing or applique for some parts are provided when appropriate.  Instructions are written for quilters with basic knowledge of quilting terms and tools.  All patterns include color graphics showing the pattern created when each block is used in a 4 x 5 grid with and without sashing.

Beginner: for someone just starting who has little knowledge of quilting terms
Experienced Beginner: for someone who has sewn a few projects and is familiar with basic quilting terms and tools but wants easy projects
Intermediate:  for someone who has completed projects for beginners and is ready to tackle more difficult tasks like peicing curves and complex triangles
Advanced: for someone who has tried nearly everything and likes a challenging project
