Trick-or-Treat
pattern pack
Treat yourself to this pack of six block patterns containing some old
Wee Folk favorites (made a wee bit larger) and some brand new spins on
Sunny the Kitten, plus the Sundrop Spider in an assortment of
sizes. Use them on wall quilts, treat bags, clothing, placemats,
pot holders, scrapbook pages and a whole lot more. All are
easy to do using fusible applique techniques. The cats and the spider
work up quickly (especially when using rick rick for the spider's legs)
and are great for party favors and block swaps.
$9.95

finished size: 9" x 24"
optional: decorate with novelty buttons or trims of choice;
a broken limb about 11" long makes a nice "dowel" for hanging this

St. Patrick's Day
These Wee Folk may be small, but they come in mighty handy for
decorating small objects like pockets, bibs, eyeglass cases and
coasters. They're also fun to "applique" with crayons, paint, or
embroidery thread. Each pattern includes pattern guides and
template patterns in three sizes; the largest size figures are about 4"
tall.

If you've been reading my blog, then you know that I love fall
leaves. I've been collecting some and making applique patterns by
tracing the leaves on freezer paper. I put these freezer paper
leaves in a zippered plastic bag for future use, but I couldn't resist
playing with some of them now. The first block was so pretty that
I decided to make enough for a small table runner but later changed my
mind and made two banners.
You can make a similar banner using any three 6.5" unfinished blocks.
1. add 6.5" long
strips between the blocks
2. add 21.5" strips to both sides
3. add 9.5" strips to top and bottom
4. sandwich the layers and quilt - stitch-in-the-ditch or a simple
meandering stitch pattern work well, or try something new (a small
project like this is great for quilting practice)
5. add binding
6. add hanging sleeve to the back
